I am a graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s in Journalism and minor in Spanish. I started as an entertainment journalist at the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, but Sean and I relocated to his hometown of Hartley, Texas. There I became a teacher’s aide at Hartley ISD, and then became an educator through West Texas A&M University. I have been teaching for 15 years at the junior high and high school levels.

My husband Sean Johnson and I have four daughters: Isabella, 10, Charlotte, 5, and Scarlett, 1, and Olivia, 4 months. We will be married for 16 years on September 1st. We have lived in Panhandle for nine years. I was born and raised in Olney, Texas, famous for their yellow and blue-striped airplanes (Air Tractor). We have two dogs: Sunny, a border collie, and Tank, a mutt.
The most impactful part of being a teacher is watching my students grow throughout the year and to see them challenge themselves to what they may of thought was not possible. It is amazing to be a part of that growth. What I enjoy the most is spending time with my family especially at the beach or traveling to see and explore different cities.
