Athletic Replacements & Upgrades
The average age of the schools athletic buildings affected by this bond is 68 years, with most built around 1955. Panhandle ISD has not invested significantly in its athletic facilities in more than 15 years. The district spends more than $100,000 annually on upkeep and maintenance for these facilities. These funds came from the operating fund, taking money from instruction. This bond helps alleviate this cost and creates more funding for classroom and instruction.
New Fieldhouse
Proposition B includes a demo of the current fieldhouse, a new fieldhouse, and locker rooms.
The current Field House was built in 1955, over 68 years ago.

Resurface Track | New Lights | Bench Covers
Proposition B includes resurfacing of the track, new field lighting and upgrades to Panther Stadium bleachers. Panhandle ISD maintains a 10- year replacement schedule for resurfacing of the track.
The current track surface is 10-years-old and is worn and is showing the asphalt or base below the surface.
Currently the district has many of the lights at Panther Stadium out. Prop B replaces the burned out lighting and older lights with more economical LED lights.
Both home and visitor bleachers still have a significant amount of rotting wood in them, and would be replaced with metal which is basically maintenance free.
The district needs to construct ramps that are ADA compliant on both home and visitor bleachers.
